After an incredible year On Tour with our neighbours at Lock & Quay, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re already planning an even bigger and better 2027 Music Weekender… with the location still to be revealed!
As many of you know, Salt and Tar is undergoing an exciting transformation, creating a brand-new destination for live music, events, culture and entertainment in the heart of Bootle. While we build for the future, we’re working behind the scenes on some huge plans and can’t wait to share them with you.
The success of our 2026 Music Weekender showed just how special the Salt and Tar community is, and we’re bringing that energy back for August 2027.

Our Story
Our name , Salt & Tar, is inspired by Bootle’s rich history as a hub of industry and trade, paying homage to the port and its proud work heritage.
Salt and Tar was created to bring outstanding live music, culture and events to Bootle. Over the years, we’ve welcomed thousands of visitors, hosted iconic artists and created opportunities for local people to get involved, develop skills and celebrate their community.
While our permanent home is being transformed into a brand-new venue, the Salt and Tar story continues. Following a successful year on tour in 2026, we’re preparing for an even bigger future, with exciting events planned and a new chapter for live entertainment in Bootle on the horizon.
